Flights
Once your quote is agreed, we recommend the best flight options based on years of doing this ourselves — the routes that minimize layovers and get you here rested, timed to your pre-op appointments. You book directly, so the ticket, the miles, and the control stay yours.
Arrival: meet & greet
Forget taxi queues after a long flight. If you’d like us to arrange it, an English-speaking representative meets you as you exit customs at Suvarnabhumi (BKK) or Don Mueang (DMK) — or a regional airport like Chiang Mai (CNX) — and takes you by private car straight to your accommodation, or directly to the hospital if you’re being admitted. Your coordinator confirms check-in and makes sure you’re settled. A small deposit secures the pickup; it’s credited to your trip on arrival.
Visa & entry
As of September 15, 2026, U.S. citizens (and nationals of some 60 countries) enter Thailand visa-free for up to 30 days, with a one-time 30-day extension available at immigration’s discretion. For treatment and recovery that runs longer, we supply the hospital letters needed for a medical-stay visa and walk you through the current requirements. Rules change — we confirm what applies to you before you fly, and tell you exactly what to have in hand at the immigration counter.
Staying here
Your recovery should be as calm as your procedure. We arrange comfortable private living spaces — not clinical medical housing — chosen on three criteria: safety and privacy, proximity to your hospital, and a restorative atmosphere (a kitchenette, a view, room to breathe). Or book your own; either way, you choose.
Serviced apartments
For solo travelers or couples: daily housekeeping, 24/7 security, pools and gyms for when you’re cleared. Hotel service, private-home feel. Some sit right above shopping malls for convenience.
Private recovery villas
For families or maximum privacy: your own outdoor space, often a private pool, and the kind of quiet that genuinely helps healing.
Hospital-adjacent suites
For short stays or complex pre-op diagnostics: spacious suites on or beside the hospital campus, with medical support minutes away.

Yes, these room prices are real
You don’t need to spend a fortune to be comfortable while you heal. Modern, air-conditioned rooms and serviced apartments across Bangkok routinely run US$20 to US$40 a night. These are real rates, and they’ve been the norm the whole time we’ve lived here — since 2019.
Simple & practical — US$20–35 / night
Quiet private rooms with air conditioning, strong Wi-Fi, an elevator, and daily cleaning. Great for routine visits or companion travel.
Extra space & comfort — US$45–80 / night
One-bedroom serviced apartments or quiet suites with a small kitchen and seating area — room to stretch out and rest after a procedure.

Simple hotels from around US$30–40 a night (Woraburi Sukhumvit, Travelodge Sukhumvit 11, Citrus Sukhumvit 11), and serviced apartments from US$45–80 (Citadines Sukhumvit 11, lyf Sukhumvit 8). Walking distance or a two-minute ride.
Near Bangkok Hospital — Phetchaburi / Huai Khwang
Three-star hotels and studio apartments along New Phetchaburi Road, typically US$25–40. Five to ten minutes by Grab.
Near Samitivej — Phrom Phong / Thonglor
Serviced apartments from US$40–70 in a quieter, family-friendly part of town, close to parks and the big malls.
Outside the centre — Bang Na / Nonthaburi
For longer stays on a tight budget: secure studios and one-bedrooms from US$18–30, twenty to thirty minutes by Grab to the major hospitals. That photo is the honest version — older furnishings, nothing stylish, but clean, quiet, air-conditioned and perfectly comfortable to rest in. No brochure gloss.
A word about holiday periods
Thailand is a holiday destination as well as a medical one, and that cuts both ways. Over peak periods — Christmas and New Year above all, and to a lesser extent Songkran in April and Chinese New Year — hotels fill up, availability tightens and prices rise. Book late into one of those weeks and you pay for it.
Bangkok is the least affected. City rates barely move through the year, and the prices above hold in most months — one of the quiet advantages of recovering in the city rather than at the beach. Phuket and Pattaya over Christmas and New Year are the real exception: coastal accommodation jumps sharply and books out early.
If your treatment falls in a peak period, or you are planning a seaside recovery over the holidays, tell us well ahead — that is exactly when booking early is worth real money. We confirm live numbers for your dates before you book anything.

Getting around
Your coordinator pre-arranges private transport for every follow-up, therapy session, and scheduled test. For companions, or once you’re cleared for light activity, we show you the reliable options — private cars, reputable taxis, and Grab, Thailand’s ride-hailing app: a fixed price shown before you book, no haggling, no language barrier, usually a few dollars across town. Any unexpected need, one message away.
Pharmacy, food, money
We point you to accredited pharmacies near your accommodation and can arrange prescription fulfillment and delivery after discharge. Dietary needs? We know the international grocers and specialty shops worth trusting — and GrabFood delivers from thousands of restaurants and supermarkets straight to your door, often within half an hour, so a good meal never means a trip out. And we’ll tell you the safest, cheapest ways to handle currency, cards, and cash here.
Someone by your side
Translation and companionship at appointments, help with paperwork, a familiar face on admission day — vetted local assistants by the hour, day, week, or longer. At the international hospitals English is standard; at smaller local clinics this is what makes them accessible.
Insurance & affordability
For most of our U.S. clients, the most effective path is direct self-pay. The all-in cost of a major procedure in Thailand — surgeon, hospital stay, accommodation, and our coordination — is a fraction of the U.S. cost, often less than a U.S. deductible for the same procedure. You get one clear quote before you book anything: no surprise billing, and no weeks of waiting on pre-authorization.
Can I use my U.S. health insurance?
Most standard U.S. plans (HMOs and PPOs) don’t cover scheduled care performed abroad. Some PPOs may partially reimburse approved out-of-network international care. We provide fully itemized invoices and documentation so you can submit a claim — but we advise budgeting for the full self-pay cost and treating any reimbursement as a bonus, not a plan.
Medical travel insurance — strongly recommended
A short-term medical travel policy is inexpensive and protects you against the things nobody plans for: emergency evacuation, an unexpectedly extended hospital stay, delayed flights or lost baggage. We’ll help you find the right policy.
Honest pricing, agreed before you book
Simple, and deliberately low-pressure. Tell us what you need, your budget, and your timing. We come back with a custom quote — all-inclusive or à la carte — and adjust until it fits. Once you’re happy, we line everything up.
Larger procedures
You pay the hospital directly — only after your doctor has met you, reviewed your case, and agreed a plan with you. We don’t touch your medical payment and we don’t mark up the procedure.
Smaller procedures & local clinics
We quote you one all-in price and settle with the clinic ourselves — no surprises at the desk, nothing to sort out in a language you don’t speak.
Either way, you choose the option that fits your budget — a renowned international hospital or a trusted local specialist — and you know the number before you book.
No deposit for our services
You pay on arrival, before treatment begins. Until you’re here, nothing is charged for our coordination — we’d rather earn your trust than hold your money. The exceptions are small and specific: a deposit to secure airport pickup (credited on arrival), and any deposit a hotel or vendor requires under its own terms, which we pass through and tell you about upfront.
How to pay
Credit card (the card processor’s fee is passed through, shown to you before you pay), Wise, bank transfer to our U.S. or Thai account, PayPal, and other U.S. methods — in USD or THB, your choice.
If plans change
Any specific service that doesn’t occur is fully refunded. Anything already delivered stands as booked. Third-party bookings follow that vendor’s own cancellation terms, which we make clear before you commit.
