A full IVF cycle in Bangkok costs roughly half what it costs in the United States, and you can usually start within weeks rather than months. But before any of that matters: Thai law permits assisted reproduction only for married couples. Almost no site in this business tells you that on the way in. We would rather you found out here than after booking flights.
Thailand’s assisted reproduction law, passed in 2015, restricts IVF and related treatment to married couples. In practice that means:

For standard IVF under Thai law. Some clinics offer other fertility services or will refer you elsewhere, but do not plan a cycle around an exception.

Thailand legalised same-sex marriage in 2025, which came years after the assisted reproduction law was written. How the two fit together is genuinely unsettled, and we are not going to guess on a page like this. The saving is real but it is not the reason to choose a clinic. Fertility is the one area of medicine where the cheapest option can be the most expensive — a failed cycle costs you the money, the time and a great deal else besides. Ask any clinic for its live-birth rates for women in your age band, and be wary of anyone who quotes pregnancy rates instead.
This is the part people underestimate. An IVF cycle is not a procedure you fly in for.
Stimulation is monitored with regular scans and blood tests over roughly two weeks, then retrieval, then transfer a few days later.
Some couples do retrieval on one trip, freeze the embryos, and return for the transfer. It splits the time away but doubles the flights.
Not a hotel room. A cycle is emotionally punishing and you will be in Bangkok for weeks. A quiet apartment with a kitchen matters more than you think.
Early-morning scans, mostly. Being twenty minutes from the clinic rather than an hour across the city changes the whole experience.
We will not tell you that Thailand has better success rates than home. We do not know that, and neither does anyone else quoting you a number without naming the age band it applies to.
We will not tell you that a cheaper cycle is a better cycle. It is cheaper. Whether it is better depends on the clinic, the embryologist and your own circumstances, and price is a poor guide to any of those.
And we will not encourage you to keep going. This is the one area where a business like ours has an obvious incentive to sell you another cycle, and another after that. If your doctor here tells you it is time to stop, we will not be the people suggesting a second opinion until you get the answer you want.
You pay the clinic directly. We never mark up your medical bill and we take no commission from any clinic — which matters more here than anywhere else on this site, because the incentive to push you toward the clinic that pays best would be enormous.
What we do is the ground: the paperwork check before you commit, an apartment you can live in for a month rather than a hotel room, transport to early-morning appointments, and someone reachable on the days that are hard. A cycle abroad is a long, tense few weeks, and most of what we provide is the ordinary practical support that makes it bearable.
Fertility treatment in Thailand is well established, well equipped and fast to access. It is also tightly regulated, which cuts both ways.
